Ndola based Super League side Forest Rangers Football Club last Saturday show a rare privilege and recognized one of their ardent followers with a full Forest Rangers kit.
According to the Forest Rangers Facebook page, 12-year-old Gift Nyirongo was the recipient of the kit. Forest Rangers report that Gift is a Fole Malembe super fanatic who resides in Dola Hill and he ever-present figure at Forest Rangers training sessions.
Gift treks to Dola Hill Stadium to watch Fole Malembe training sessions every time he knocks off from school and ever-present resent during Forest Rangers home matches.
Before the match between Forest Rangers and Kabwe Warriors, Gift was presented with the Fole Kit by the 2012 AFCON winning midfielder, the legendary Isaac Chansa, Benson Chali and Anshel Siame.
The 12-year-old was also accorded the opportunity to escort the match officials as they walked out of the tunnel and was carrying the match-day ball for the match that was beamed live on SuperSport.
This gesture deserves recognition as Forest Rangers have just won a lifetime fan as well as potential football players assuming Gift takes football as a career in the near future.
To avoid empty stadiums, many Zambian clubs can emulate Fole Malembe by offering special rewards and recognitions to their fans in order to grow their fanbase.
Kudos Fole Malembe.

Dear Zamfoot
Just asking, who designs the kit for the various teams?
The kit manufacturers themselves. Most team’s buy off the shelf and then brand them.
Many thanks – Zamfoot
