Zanaco on loan young striker to Forest Rangers Damiano Kola scored a long range thunderbolt to ensure Coach Perry Mutapa’s boys started on a winning note.
Forest Rangers were playing their first match of the 2018 Super League season after refusing to travel to Kitwe last weekend for their week 20 fixture which was brought forward.
The match was even with both teams failing to create goal scoring chances in the first half . Mutapa made changes in the second half bringing on Kunda Nkandu and Damiano Kola and it was The latter that made his time count most as he scored from long range to put Rangers in the lead in the 86th minute.
The referee then took the spotlight in added time when he showed Ilongo a red card after what he believed to be a second bootable offence but was actually the first yellow card. The player was almost leaving the pitch but Forest Rangers technical bench pushed him back into the stadium 10 seconds before the referee could end the match.
