FLIGHT PARIS 2024: 180 Minutes and not First Leg will Decide Olympic Ticket – Vilda

Morocco Women’s National Team coach Jorge Vilda is targeting goals in Friday’s Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier match against Zambia set for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola.

Kick-off for the match will be at 19h00 and tickets are available at K40 East, North and South, K60 West and K150 VIP in all Shoprite stores countrywide via CompuTicket.

The World Cup-winning former Spain coach said at a pre-match press conference that the qualifier match will be about goals after 180 minutes.

“The Copper Queens are very fast; it will be a difficult match but we expect a good result at the end of 180 minutes. Starting away does not give us an advantage, whoever scores more goals will win,” Vilda said.

Morocco are winless against Zambia in three meetings (1D,2L) and Vilda feels the Atlas Lionesses have made tremendous progress to face the Copper Queens.

“In September before I became the coach, they (results against Zambia) were very close results but (we) were able to use this as an avenue to learn, I have seen a lot of improvement and we are very ready to face Zambia tomorrow (on Friday),” Vilda said.

“Thank you for the great welcome, we are very excited to be here in Zambia. We are motivated to face the team and we are prepared to face the challenge tomorrow. If Morocco is able to win the game tomorrow, it will be nice to make it to the Olympics.”

The reverse fixture will be played on 9 April 2024 in Rabat.
