Five goalkeepers battling for three places

Chipolopolo Boys coach Avram Grant is set to drop two goalkeepers ahead of this morning’s trip to Morocco.

Zambia face Morocco in Adagir on Friday with kickoff at 21:00.

Zesco United second choice goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata is the most experienced and is expected to make the trip.

Power Dynamos shot stopper Lawrence Mulenga should also be on the chartered plane to North Africa.

The battle of a third choice goalkeeper is an intriguing one.

League and cup double winning Red Arrows goalkeeper Charles Kalumba was initially set to battle it out against Nchanga Rangers skipper Victor Chabu but Francis Mwansa’s late inclusion is a game changer.

Despite being second choice at Green Buffaloes, there seems to be an obsession with Mwansa at national team.

The 22 year old was also part of squad at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He was then axed for the March internationals but unconvincing performances from Nsabata and Mulenga could have paved his way back.

Chabu might also be a wild card following his performances in the Absa Cup in which he won two man of the match awards including in a shot out win over Nsabata’s Zesco United.
