FAZ Women’s Super League: Arrows edge Parliamentarians

FAZ Women’s Super League Rescheduled Match Week 12

Full-Time Scores,

National Assembly 1-2 Red Arrows (Donaria Simaundu | Grace Chanda, Alines Kasoma)

Red Arrows Women Football Club on Wednesday edged National Assembly 2-1 in a 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League Rescheduled Match Week 12 played at Lusaka’s Showgrounds.

Grace ‘Dangote’ Chanda opened the scores for the Air Ladies inside the opening 5 minutes after tapping in from close range from an Alines ‘Make Rose’ Kasoma square pass inside the box to make it 1-0 in favor of the Air Ladies.

Donaria ‘Dante’ Simaundu restored parity towards the halftime mark to make it 1-1 going at the break.

The second half was a more cagey affair with both sides having a share of opportunities but The Air Ladies missed clear-cut chances but good job by Assembly goalkeeper Agnes ‘Fabiola’ Banda ensured the scores remain at 1-1.

However, with less than 5 minutes to stoppage time, Alines Kasoma turned from assisting to the scoreline as she scored the winning goal thanks to an assist from Margaret Belemu who played most of the second half as a right-winger.

This second goal by Arrows was similar to the first one they scored in the first half.

Assembly technical bench was not happy with Arrows second goal as they felt Kasoma was in an offside situation and after the match, they aired their grievances to the match commissioner Mr. Stanely Hachiwa to take a look at the goal once again.

After all, was done and dusted it was the Air Ladies who emerged victors via a 2-1 scoreline and this result is a Morale booster for them going into their next assignment this weekend at Nkoloma Stadium against Nkwazi Queens in another Rescheduled Match Week 13.
