Red Arrows women have continued their ruthless form as they thrashed Police Dove Queens 8-0 while Lusaka Dynamos Ladies eased past ZISD Ladies 5-1 to move to second place on the log table.
The Airwomen on Wednesday morning welcomed Solwezi based Police Dove Queens in a rescheduled week four at Nkoloma Stadium.
Coming from a 13-0 win over ZISD Ladies it was always going to be a Red Arrows morning and that is how the match went from the word go. Arrows were 3-0 up just 12 minutes into the match, Mary Mambwe opened the scores before Square Maiwase could add a second while Ochumba Oseke Lubanji added a third.
GRACE CHANDA SHOW
Grace Chanda who scored nine goals in the Airwomen big win over ZISD Ladies then took over the show. Chanda made it four with a close-range finish.
She then scored the goal of the day with a powerful left-footed strike from outside the area on the turn leaving Luyi Chinyonge in the Police Dove Queens goal with no chance. Chanda was not finished as she completed her first half hat-trick a few minutes later, 6-0 the match went to the break.
In the second half, the Airwomen relaxed a bit but there was still a goal each for Mary Mambwe and Square Maiwase to complete their braces, 8-0 the match finished.
The win takes Arrows to third place on the log with 11 points two adrift of log leaders Green Buffaloes.
At NASDEC Sports Complex, Lusaka Dynamos Ladies eased past ZISD Ladies 5-1 to move to second place on the log tied on 13 points with Green Buffaloes but the Soldiers have a better goal difference.
Grace Tembo returned to the score sheet with a brace while Towera Nkhata scored from the penalty spot. Natasha Mushiko and Thandi Nkhata scored the other two goals for the Elite Ladies while Lungowe Namasiku scored the consolation goal for ZISD Ladies.
Action from the Women national league continues this weekend with arguably the biggest game in the league coming to life as Green Buffaloes host the Airwomen, Red Arrows at the Green Square ground in Arakan Barracks.
