The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has urged the fans to rally behind Zambia’s envoys in the CAF confederation Cup, Zesco United and Nkana over the weekend.
In a press statement issued by FAZ communications manager Desmond Katongo and made available to the ZamFoot crew, The Association has called on fans to turn up in Numbers to support Nkana on Saturday and Zesco United on Sunday.
“We wish to appeal to soccer fans across the country to support Nkana and Zesco United when they host San Pedro and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday and Sunday respectively.”
Nkana will host Ivorian outfit San Pedro on Saturday at Nkana Stadium while Zesco United will lock horns with PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The association has also announced that the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield between Zesco United and Nkana will take place at Arthur Davies Stadium.
The charges for the match will range from as low as K20 to K100 for VIP.

Charity Shield final to be staged at Arthur Davies
The Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) wishes to inform the public that the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final between Nkana Football Club and Zesco United Football Club will be held in Kitwe at Arthur Davies stadium on January 26, 2019.
FAZ wishes to urge the public to turn up in numbers and support the two local giants.
“This is expected to be a clash of the titans because of the rivalry that currently exists between the two copperbelt giants. It is also an important fixture for the clubs and the Association as it symbolises the beginning of the 2019 transitional league season.”
The Association wishes to urge both sets of fans to exhibit the spirit of fair play when the two clubs meet.
“FAZ has zero tolerance towards hooliganism from any football club and will not hesitate to dispense disciplinary action against erring clubs. The Association will not hesitate to ban supporters or clubs that indulge in behaviour that doesn’t promote the spirit of fair play.”
FAZ wishes to further urge the Zambian football fraternity to rally behind Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup.
