FAZ suspend Indeni coach, Mwenya Chipepo

Indeni head coach Mwenya Chipepo has been handed an indefinite suspension for his comments in the aftermath of his side’s goalless draw against Forest Rangers.

Chipepo will not be allowed to sit on the bench of the Oilo men before his case is fully concluded by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has suspended Indeni Football Club Head Coach Mwenya Chipepo indefinitely for his unsavory comments in the aftermath of his side’s 13th June 2021 league clash against Forest Rangers which ended 0-0.

Mwenya will not be allowed to sit on the bench until the disciplinary process has been concluded.”

According to a suspension letter by FAZ Secretary General Adrian Kashala addressed to Indeni Football Club, Chipepo has been given up to Wednesday, June 23, 2021, to formally respond to the charges against him.

“The action of your coach is in total contravention of Article 13 (1) a, e, and m of the FAZ Constitution and the Ethics Code. These utterances came barely a fortnight since we issued a circular to clubs to desist from attacking match officials in public.

In the meantime, your Head Coach is suspended from performing his functions until this matter is conclusively adjudicated on by the relevant judicial bodies.”

Kashala further reiterated that officials have repeatedly been warned about airing grievances through established channels.

Indeni will conclude their season against continental football chasing Kabwe Warriors and need the experts of Mwenya Chipepo to seal their survival.
