The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) on Thursday, August 13th signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Ministry of Sports over the rehabilitation of provincial stadia.
FAZ through the FIFA support program has identified stadia to be rehabilitated in four provinces in the first phase. Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga officiated the ceremony while FAZ president Andrew Kamanga led the delegation from Football House.
Five stadia namely Kaole (Luapula), Maramba (Southern), David Kaunda (Eastern), Kasama (Northern), and Independence (North Western) will be refurbished in the first phase.
The development that will be funded by FIFA is aimed at accelerating the targets of the 10-year strategic plan set out by the Kamanga executive. With upgraded provincial infrastructure some of the national team matched involving junior teams and women can be extended to the provincial stadia.
