Football Association of Zambia, FAZ will receive about $1.5million [K31 million] from FIFA for the Copper Queens’ participation at the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia next month.
This is addition to the $1 million the association received for preparation.
The amount will increase in accordance with the Copper Queens’performance at the tournament.
The winners will pocket $4.2 million while semi finalist will get around $2.4 million.
Last 16 and quarter finalist will get $1.8 million and $2.1 million respectively.
“Each member association will receive significantly increased finding in accordance with their performance in the tournament from which the tournament related costs of the national team can be covered, with the balance to be directed into the footballing activities,” read a FIFA statement

Meanwhile each player will receive $30,000 [K600,000] from FIFA as group stage appearance fee.
Should Zambia reach the last 16, then each player’s appearance fee will double to $60,000 [K1.2 million].
Zambia are in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.The World Cup will kick off on July 20 in Australia/New Zealand.
Zambia will open its World Cup campaign on July 22 against Japan in Hamilton before facing Spain four days later at Eden Park Auckland.
The final Group C match will be against Costa Rica on July 31 at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.
