Football Association of Zambia, FAZ executive committee members are considering approaching veteran coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina for a possibe return to the national team, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Lwandamina is currently the head coach of Zambian Super League side Kabwe Warriors.
With Croatian coach Aljosa Asanovic on his way out after his stand off with FAZ, some executive committe members prefer a local coach over another expatriate coach.
“I think as an executive, we haven’t been lucky with regards to the coaches we have engaged, “a FAZ ExCom told the ZamFoot Crew.
“We are divided on whether to go with a foreign or just settle for a local coach.

Since the Andrew Kamanga led executive took over there has been a lot of managerial changes at the help of the Chipolopolo Boys.
Expatriates coaches like Sven Vanderbroeck, Micho and Asanovic have been hired but to no avail.
Lwandamina, Wedson Nyirenda, Aggrey Chiyangi and now Moses Sichone have also been in-charge of the national team.
“There are some of us who think that Lwandamina should be given the remaining four matches in the qualifers,” the insider said.
“The national team needs stability and we feel Ba Lwandamina can give us that stability.
The Chipolopolo Boys will be in action on Monday in Bamako in another friendly match.
The Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers will resume next year in March.
Zambia is in Group H alongside Ivory Coast, Comoros and Lesotho.
The Chipolopolo Boys are yet to feature at the AFCON during Kamanga’s reign.
Giving Lwandamina the chipolopolo job would be a very big mistake and backwards. All these local coaches mentioned above have been given several chances before and they have lamentably failed… Let’s try those that have never been given a chance and these local coaches needs to go to school .. Coz everytime the national team is given to a local coach we see nothing but failure.
Janza was good…go for someone new. Have some standards. Have a national team set up. A permanent national team training center. Mwepu cannot be captain. He is just to oo🍏…green.go for the one in
Are you listening to yourself, Lwandamina to take up Chipolopolo ? With due respect, Lwandamina was given enough chance just like other local coaches. It’s time a new blood with a much broader mind like Sichone took over
Lwandamina was part of the scam that led to chipolopolo failure to qualify for Afcon!
Comment:Big mistake again kamanga no gud
Let’s try one of the new coaches like Chisi Mbewe, but make it permanent not ifya part time
Asanovic for me didn’t impressed me, let him go for good! For Lwandamina time wasted, our local coaches they are even failing to win Caf champion & Confederation cup
Give sichone the job…
Sichone has an experience of both African and European football … I wonder why you are avoiding him
Kamanga leave office now we don’t have time for us to try and error
Sichone is fine with me. Give him the job.
GIVE SICHONE A CHANCE AND THAT IS THAT
Bola nayo ni exposure. If you say Chisi Mbewe just one season wait and see how he will perform this season but Sichone which big team has he experience with as a coach? Since white men come and begin to learn from here we can give chance to our own to learn too.But that should include others like Perry Mutapa,Chrissy Katongo,Davies Phiri,Ian Bakala, etc not old Lwandaminas and the like.
