The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed that Yeta FC have the appealed against the players status and transfer Committee decision to dock them three points and award them Young Green Eagles for use of an ineligible player.
FAZ has subsequently postponed the Division One play-off between Young Green Eagles (Zone 4) and Kansanshi Dynamos (Zone 2) that was set for Nkhosa Stadium in Kafue this weekend. FAZ Communications manager Mwazi Chanda confirmed the development in a press release accessed by the ZamFoot Crew.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has postponed the Division One play-off between Young Green Eagles (Zone 4) and Kansanshi Dynamos (Zone 2) that was set for Nkhosa Stadium in Kafue this weekend.
Yeta Football Club (Zone 4) has appealed the decision by the Player Status Committee to award three points to Young Green Eagles following a Week 23 match that found the former to have used two ineligible players. Yeta Football Club was found guilty of using Oscar Mukelebai and Mulowa Siyanga in place of Mwangala Siyanga and Blessings Mwamba respectively.”
Earlier in the day Yeta FC Executive Committee member Muyunda Nyambe confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew that they had appealed the decision.
“YETA FC has appealed against the decision by desciplinary committee to award three points to young green eagles because yeta FC was not accorded a chance to be heard,” Nyambe said.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala has since apologized to the clubs for the unconvince caused by this.
“We wish to apologize to the clubs involved and the football family for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our desire is to ensure that this matter is concluded amicably.”
The Appeals Committee will adjudicate the matter on Saturday 6th July 2019. The other playoff involving Kabwe Youth Academy and National Assembly FC will go on as scheduled on Saturday 6th July 2019 at President’s Stadium in Kabwe.
