The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has requested Super League and Eden University National Division One clubs to avail qualifications for the members of their technical bench and medical teams to the Association.
According to letter written by FAZ Deputy General-Secretary Joseph Chimpampwe addressed to club secretaries and made available to the ZamFoot Crew, FAZ is looking to streamline and uplift the standard of football in the country in line with the statutes of CAF and FIFA.
“In our continued efforts to streamline, remodel and uplift the quality of our game in line with the demands of Modern Football and the statutes of CAF and FIFA. We wish to request all Super League and National Division one clubs to submit the qualifications of all the members of the technical team and all the members of the medical team.”

“Kindly ensure that all the members of the technical and medical teams are covered on your submission because this will help the Association to effectively conduct a needs assessment and design skills uplifting programs in consultation with CAF and FIFA.”
Chimpampwe also urged the clubs who have up to tomorrow, Friday, October 18th to submit the documents to outline their structures to help FAZ plan for any vacancies.
“We are also interested to know how your full technical and medical teams’ structures look like so that we can take into account any vacant positions, if any, for our assessments and planning process.”
To sit on the bench of a Super League team one is required by the FAZ Constitution to hold a CAF C license and to be the head coach of Super League side, One must be a holder of a CAF A coaching badge.

Good move FAZ.
Once there is a baseline there can be targeted improvements which ultimately improve player health and long term welfare.
Also consider starting drug testing.
