Zambia U20 striker Fashion Sakala is impressing on his trials at Russian giants Spartak Moscow.
The Zanaco forward who was expected to be released by the club on Sunday to join up with the rest of the U20 squad has extend his stay with Spartak at their Cyprus camp.
Sakala was in action Spartak Moscow B over the weekend and he scored the winning goal after being given a 45 minutes run.
The club had stated that his performance in the weekend game would determine if he would stay on with the team and the Zambian lad did not dissapoint.
He will again be in action tomorrow (Thursday) when his team plays Shaprini FC of Hungary before they play their final friendly in Cyprus on Saturday, 4th February.
He will only join the U20 team in Zambia.

This is good news, hope he does clinch it. These are the results of one player performing and because of his performance in a particular league it draws attention to other players from the same country. Chisamba’s consistency in Russia is now spilling over to other Zambian players. Had players like Mayuka been consistent in the EPL or France it would have exended to other Zambia players. The exploits of players like Mbesuma and Dennis Lota in the PSL drew attention to Zambian players. Players need to understand that its not only about them to perform at your best all the time.

One another note ,How many of you can still remember ex Zambian midfielder cum striker by the name Langson Phiri? For those who didnt watch him play what I can say to you is that he was well balanced, strong and could pack a real thunderous shot. His trademark movement was lightning breaking from defence which often saw him unleash a pile drive. I am talking about him because I see the same attributes in this boy, Fashion Sakala. Fashion’s undoing though, is target shooting. He must work on that.
If he is good on the ball, he only needs to build ability to work in tight spaces, and working as a team in attack and in defense. Keep the ball and build support and cause transition into quick and potent potent attack. That summarizes ZANACO. what a day! he is getting the contract.
I guess he will improve the target shooting also. It’s all about being brave and then keep the eye on the ball as you go for it. Cheers!
