Soccer fans led by Pastor Peter Makembo welcomed FIFA World Cup referee at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The 39 year old was also welcomed by his family including his Wife and Child.
The former Kapiri Mposhi resident who has now relocated to Lusaka after he was promoted by the Ministry of Education officiated two games in Russia.
His was in charge of the Belgium and Panama game and then the Japan against Poland.
Sikazwe was named the fourth official in Croatia’s quarter final match against host Russia.
It’s been roller coaster for Sikazwe since 2010 after he became a FIFA referee.
The former secondary school teacher has officiated the FIFA Club World Cup.
He has also officiated both the CAF Champions League and African Cup of Nations.

Zambia must be the only country in the world where referees are given a heroes welcome. I guess we are a unique country. Congratulations Mr Sikazwe!
