Katongo is a graduate of the Zambia U-20 National Team she captained the team in the 2022 U-20 World Cup Qualifiers and scored a goal and set up two in the 6-0 demolition of Malawi.
She played all the games at the 2022 WAFCON and scored the goal that sealed Zambia’s bronze against Nigeria.
She also played a pivotal part at the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship where she again scored and Zambia won the tournament.
She seems to have grown into the major fabric of coach Bruce Mwape starting eleven.
