Evans Kangwa happy to be in Asanovic’s team as he welcomes Frankie & Mabika,

Russian-based striker Evans Kangwa is excited to be part of coach Aljosa Asanovic’s 23 member squad for this month’s international friendly matches.

Kangwa believes being in the squad means he is among the country’s finest which is every player’s wish.

The Arsenal Tula forward feels the games will help the players to get acquainted with the coach’s philosophy and work on his tactical approach.

“Yeah it’s always good to be in the national team because every player in Zambia who’s playing in any league wants to be in the national team so if you go to the national team it is exciting cause you know you’re among the best, because if you’re in the national team meaning you’re one of the best 23, So it’s nice to be back again,” Kangwa said.

“Yeah very important because this friendly game is where you can access your team, how strong you’re and you can even experiment in this kind of games, so it’s good to have this kind of friendly and since we have a new coach also it’s good to know his tactics, what he wants from us so it’s good that we are here in the first camp with our new coach yeah.”

Coach Asanovic included two new players in USA based Aime Mabika and Scottish based Frankie Chisenga Musonda and Kangwa believes it won’t be hard to work together because football is a universal language.

“Yeah football is the same everywhere even if you playing wherever, football is the same language, so even if you’re new as long as you can understand what the coach needs because even me, even if I’ve been here for a long time it’s new, it’s like every day when I’m here is like a new day for me. so the players who are coming which we have never met, we, all of us in the national team are like you so it’s us to be together and play and understand each other and I said in this kind of game you can experiment,” Kangwa said.

“Yeah no in Russia the situation is okay because the war is in Ukraine but for us i think we are safe we don’t have any problems yeah.”

Kangwa is one of the early arrivals for the international friendly matches alongside teammate Klings Kangwa.

The Copper Bullets will travel to Turkey this week and will take part in two international friendly matches starting with Congo Brazzaville on Friday March 25.
