Russian-based forward Evans Kangwa has expressed happiness with his return to the Zambia national team set up ahead of Thursday’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.
Kangwa, Rally Bwalya, and Clatous Chota Chama are the first three foreign-based players to jet into Douala to join the Chipolopolo camp.
20, 000 fans will be allowed at the National Heroes Stadium in respect of the directive by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Kangwa is happy to play in front of the Chipolopolo faithful.
“It’s always fantastic and it’s always good for every player to be called especially after a long time, Am very excited to be with this group, and am looking forward to being with them for the rest of the camp and the two games against Equatorial Guinea,” he said.
“I think looking at the previous we played, we have learned a lot. The coaches know better, At this level when you playing away you need to mostly look at tactics.”
“We played a lot of games with fans in the Stadium, it always exciting, even when you not in good form but when the fans are in the stadium it gives you another level of performance, We are excited as a team that the fans are back in the Stadium,” he added.
Zambia hosts the Nzalang Nacional on October 10, 2021, in a Group B clash which will kickoff at 18:00 hours. The Chipolopolo is away to Equatorial Guniea on Thursday in the first of the double-header clash during this round of qualifiers.
