Zambian midfield genius Enock Mwepu has been voted as Redbull Salzburg player of the month for December following a poll on the club’s official website.
Mwepu accumulated almost 80% of the votes with great backing from Zambia to beat off competition from Germany U-21 forward Mergîm Berisha, defender Rasmus Kristensen and defensive midfielder Zlatko Junuzovic to the accolade.
Mwepu was very impressive for Salzburg in December starting 5 out of six games and assisting 3 times. He also scored a brilliant solo goal after a 60-meter run from his half in the win over LASK Linz.
The Computer will be expected to play a vital role in Redbull Salzburg’s campaign in the UEFA Europa League next year after they dropped from the UEFA Champions League after finishing third in the group behind defending Champions Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Athletico Madrid.
