Chipolopolo midfielder Emmanuel Banda was on target on Saturday as HNK Rijeka secured an important 2-0 win away at Varaždin.
Banda opened the scores in the 13th minute after being put through on goal by Toni Fruk.
The move was started by Selahi who took the ball brilliantly before passing to Fruk who set up the Zambian international for a close range finish inside the 18 yard area.
The goal was Emmanuel Banda’s first for the season.
Two minutes later, Čabraja almost scored with a great free kick from 25 metres, however the crossbar came to Varaždin rescue, and Ivanovic failed to utilise the rebound.
The second goal for Rijeka came in the second half as Škaričić put the ball past his own keeper.
Rijeka came close a few times but they could not add to their two goal lead as the match ended, 2-0.
The win means Rijeka maintain second place with 31 points, two adrift of log leaders Hajduk Split.
