The 2017 season opening Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield will this year see Zesco United and Power Dynamos lock horns in the semi finals while champions Zanaco will play Nkana.
According to a FAZ communique monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, the semi final will be played on Wednesday 29th March in Kitwe with the final slated for Saturday 1st April in Lusaka.
The Charity Shield features the three top teams in the previous season with the winner of the Barclays Cup.
Since second placed Zesco United won the Barclays Cup, fourth placed Power Dynamos who are the holders will compete.
The match-up between the two electricity supply companies Zesco and Power is repeat of last year which saw the two teams lock horns at the same stage.
Power triumphed on penalties last year after the two teams played to a 1 – 1 draw. Idriss Mbombo had given Zesco the lead but Conlyde Luchanga blasted home the equalizer.
Zesco’s Mbombo and Misheck Chaila missed their spot kicks for Power to proceed to the final where they beat Green Buffaloes 1 – 0 via a Larry Bwalya goal.

Zanaco v Nkana – 1515hrs
the zambian league must be expanded to a full 20 teams. and then division 1 should be retructured to the old system were thers only 2 divisions. having multiple divisions means having useless teams like real nakonde in the premnier league. visionless kamanga
