Zambian International forward Edward Chilufya has completed a move to swedish side BK Häcken.
The winger joins BK Hacken on a one-year loan from Danish side FC Midtjylland.
BK Häcken are strengthening their squad in readiness for the upcoming Europa League group stage and the Allsvenskan championship playoff.
Edward Chilufya will make his official debut for Hacken after the international break next week.
Chilufya has described his move to Hacken as a dream come true and recognized the club’s organization.
“It feels good to join BK Häcken, it’s a privilege. It’s a good and well-organized team that plays in Europe and won Allsvenskan last year,”
“It’s a dream come true. Everyone dreams of playing matches in Europe. It’s very big for everyone and so also for me,”
BK Hacken sporting director Martin Ericson believes Chilufya will flourish at Hacken.
“He’s a player with an X-factor,” says Martin Ericsson.
“He has had a slightly difficult period in Denmark, but we believe that he can flourish again in our environment and that his experience from both national teams and European games can add something to the squad for this autumn’s many important games,”
“Chilufya is a player that we know well since his previous spell in Sweden. He is a player who makes a difference with his speed – both with and without the ball. This is important for us in both our press game and our offensive game,” says Martin Ericsson.
The Zambian international made himself known in Sweden during his time at Djurgårdens.
At Djurgårdens, Chilufya scored eleven (11) goals and seven assists in 62 games in all competitions.
Chilufya joined FC Midtjylland in January 2022 and has scored six goals and three assists in 61 appearances for the club.
