A Confederation of African Football (CAF) official has confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew that they have communicated to Green Eagles, informing them that Independence Stadium does not meet minimum requirements to host CAF games.
“Yes, Green Eagles have been communicated that the Stadium does not meet minimum requirements for CAF games,” the CAF Official said.
The Zambian envoys in the 2018-19 CAF Confederation Cup, Green Eagles used the Independence Stadium when they played against Young Buffaloes of Eswatini in the 1st leg of the preliminary round.
With the Communiqué from CAF, informing them they do not meet the standard, the Choma side has to now look for other options.
Meanwhile reports indicates that the Zambia National services (ZNS) sponsored side have engaged Red Arrows to use Nkoloma Stadium for CAF matches.
Efforts to get confirmation from Green Eagles drew blanks as the team just arrived from Eswatini where they beat Young Buffaloes to proceed to the first round.
Unfair. That ground is way better than those in West Africa.
They shouldn’t compare with other Zambian grounds.
