Departures and Arrivals at NAPSA Stars

Zambia Super League side NAPSA Stars have confirmed the departure of six players from the club during the January transfer window. 

The Pensioners have also confirmed the acquisition of former Forest Rangers, ZESCO United and Nchanga Rangers striker Zikuru Adams and Pinoki Vuvu.

The club confirmed the developments in their monthly review booklet made available to the ZamFoot Crew.

“The Club has managed to secure the 

services of two players for the 

remainder of the 2022/2023 season.

Ghanaian Adam Zikiru has returned to play the Zambian League after spending a season in Mozambique with UD Songo.”

The forward joined NAPSA Stars on a one-year deal and has since played one match for the team which saw NAPSA Stars draw 0-0 with Kansanshi Dynamos.

The other player who has joined the Club is forward Pinoki Vuvu who last played for AS Simba Kamikaze in Congo and has penned a two- year deal with NAPSA Stars. Vuvu has so far featured in four matches for the club.

“Meanwhile, at the start of the second 

round, six players, among them skillful 

midfielder Danny Silavwe and 

defender Bonwell Silengo left the club.

Bornwell Silengo and Danny Silavwe had been with the team since the 2018 season, helping the Club survive relegation in that season.”

Others that have left are Burundian 

midfielder Enock Sabumukama also left the Club after spending close to three seasons with NAPSA Stars having joined the club during the 2020/2021 season.

Sabumukama has since returned home after being released by Napsa Stars. He has joined Burundian top-flight club Bumamuru FC as a free agent

Other players that were released include 

goalkeeper Maxime Loic from Cameroon,  Ghanaian right back Daniel Obeng who joined the team in the 2020/2021 season and Striker Bernad Katumoya has also left the Club after joining at the beginning of the 2022/2023 season.

Club Chief Executive Officer Ponga Liwewe thanked the players for their time at the Club.

“These players played a great role during their time at the Club, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” Ponga said.

NAPSA Stars are currently 10th on the table with 33 points from 25 games played so far.
