Zambia national team head coach Wedson Nyirenda was left impressed by debutant Lazarous Kambole performance on Sunday. The Zesco United Most improved player of the year award winner was invloved in two goals on his debut for the Copper Bullets .
The Chipolopolo gaffer believes Kambole has alot to offer to the national team. The Zesco United striker put Zambia in the lead just after 38 minutes when he got on the end of a low cross from Enerst Mbewe slotting the ball between Ochan’s legs.
“There is nothing that gives coach a lot of pleasure than when you believe in a player and he responds in that style. The boy is starting to believe in himself, getting more and more confident. I think the young man has a lot to show,” he said.
Nyirenda and his team have no plans of relaxing despite their dream start to the tournament. Nyirenda wants to treat every game with the utmost importance.
“We have just won the first game and won’t go to sleep. We have three points at stake against Namibia. The race is still open. It is marathon. All teams have two games to play, and we won’t relax. The way Uganda played; we should not be surprised to see them qualify despite them losing the first game,” Nyirenda said.
Zambia opened their 2018 CHAN campaign on winning note beating Uganda by three goals to one with goals from Lazarous Kambole, Augustine Mulenga and a deflected free kick from Fackson Kapumbu.

This group poses no real threats. This team minus patson or Mwepu looks like the team that baet Algeria so they should qualify for the next round.

I would like to comment about the Jersey, it looks neat nevertheless I am concerned that this Jersey is a copy of a Nike Jersey that Kaiser Chiefs are using in South Africa. I am worried . Maama Maama. A law suite coming to Ponga and Kamanga for stealing a design from Nike. Mwapya lelo.
a pat on the back of Marrakech KAMBOLE.
we have started with a positive results which is good.it was a game of two halves.we didn’t start well but ended with a convincing win.On the Jersey very nice.but the issues of law suit I can’t comment.
Useless Zambian fans…always complaining about something…the Jersey is ok…why do u want us to be bootlicking nike and Puma when we can make our own
