CAF CC: Debutants Green Eagles soar with win over Young Buffaloes

Ten man Green Eagles excelled on their debut CAF Confederations game when they beat Young Buffaloes of Eswatini 2 – 0 in a game played a Independence stadium in Choma in the preliminary round first leg match.

Second half goals from Edward Mwamba and Jonathan Manongo propelled the Aggrey Chiyangi coached side to victory. Mwamba who is on loan from Nkwazi opened the scores in the 61st minute.

It was a frantic match and the Aggrey Chiyangi side was pushing for another goal late on. The pressure paid off when the Choma side were awarded a penalty in additional time which Manongo dispatched in the 7th minute of additional time.

The Zambia National Service sponsored side will travel to Eswatini with a two goal advantage in the return leg which will be played next week.
