Hey all,
So it was the third day of our training camp today, and again I was really looking forward to it. This morning we went out to prepare for a friendly match in the afternoon. We played 11 v 11 and then worked on set pieces. It was a good training session – we were all doing well and there were no injuries.
We came back after training to get lunch, which I’m really enjoying here. Then I headed back to my room, had a listen to some music, and as I was feeling a bit of pain I had some more therapy.
Then there was a bit of time to kill before the match so I chilled as much as I could in the room before the pre-match meeting. We had a short discussion about how we were going to approach the game and what our system would be. The coach told us that we were going to start with a midfield diamond but switch to a 4-4-2. He also said he wanted us to move a lot and communicate a lot with each other.
It was a wonderful game. We started the first half very well and scored two early goals. I got the chance to play in the second half. There was a bit of healthy competition between the two different teams we had in each half. I think our second-half team did much better and we scored four goals after two in the first. Our set-pieces were all working well, and I’m glad to have provided two assists. Now the first-half team has to serve us for dinner – all for a bit of fun, of course!Â
I think things are going really well so far, we’re preparing well and there have been no injuries so far, which is important. We’re looking forward to the next day of the camp tomorrow.
