Red Bull Salzburg strike Patson Daka continued the chase for the Tipico Bundesliga Golden Boot when he opened the the scoring in a 2-nil win over Rapid Vienna with a robbing header, the goal puts Daka within the frame of the Golden Boot.
The 21 year old has been in good form this season for the Die Mozartstädter scoring 18 league goals in 22 matches he has played this season, 5 goals behind top scorer Shon Weissman.
Weissman extended his tally last night when he scored a goal for Wolfsberger AC in a 2-1 win over Sturm Graz. He has now scored 23 goal in 22 matches.
The third position is occupied by Erling Braut Halaand who has scored 16 goals but has since move to the Germany Bundesliga were he is playing for Dortmund. Christoph Meinschein is fourth with 15 goals while Texiarchis Fountas cements the top five with 14 goals.
Ending the season with a Golden Boot will be a very good season for the Zambian international striker, with this season’s League Cup already in their trophy cabinet. It will be an exceptional season if he can win the League trophy and Golden Shoe too.
