Daka eyes more goals as Rogers says he is satisfied with the Zambian forward

Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka kept it humble as usual despite his record-breaking night in the UEFA Europa League as he guided Leicester City to a 4-3 comeback win over Spartak Moscow on Wednesday.

Daka vowed to continue working hard as he praised Jamie Vardy’s form when asked about doing enough for a starting place in the Foxes squad.

The Chipolopolo Boys forward is keen on scoring a lot of goals for Leicester City.

“Have I done enough to earn myself a place in the starting eleven? I don’t know. We also have Jamie Vardy, who’s in great form. In any case, I have to keep working hard, making progress, and doing well for the team,” Daka told the UEFA Europa League website.

“The goals may look easy, but they are tough to score. They need total concentration. I know the qualities of the team, so I just had to use my speed and keep my concentration. I hope I can score as many goals as possible.”

Manager Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for the hardworking and ever-smiling Zambian. Rogers said he was satisfied with Daka for scoring four goals.

“He never stopped smiling and working hard after joining Leicester. I’m so happy for him and his goals. He scored his first goal in the Premier League last Saturday, now four in Europe. Amazing,” Rogers said.

“I am satisfied with the result, it was a great victory and satisfied with the mentality to come from behind. I was satisfied with the second half as we showed more aggression. And I’m super satisfied with Patson Daka after his four goals.”

Daka scored four goals including a nine-minute hat-trick to help the Foxes to a 4-3 win over Spartak Moscow.

The goals meant Daka became the first Leicester City player to score four goals in a single game since Derek Hines in a 6-3 victory over Aston Villa in November 1958.
