Daka brace inflicts more misery on Lesotho

Striker Patson Daka scored a brace as Zambia beat Lesotho 2-0 in the Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Daka gave Zambia the lead in the 14th minute off a Fashion Sakala assist.

Fashion Sakala was again the assist provider in the second half as the Leicester City man tapped home his second of the afternoon.

This was Daka’s 12th goal for Zambia.

Zambia reclaim Group H top spot with 9 points ahead of Ivory Coast [7 points] and Comoros [3 points].

Lesotho remain bottom on 1 point.

Comoros host Ivory Coast on Tuesday. A defeat for Comoros, will see Zambia just need a point from the last two matches.

Zambia will host Ivory Coast at home before travelling to Comoros in the next FIFA international break.

  1. The next team to beat is Ivory Coast at home n Zambia.
Like Senegal they have never been a threat to Zambia at any AFCON games.
I hasten to say, they have been a challenge when it comes to World Cup games.
This one is for Zambia to lose it.
Congratulations to Kamanga, the FAZ, the technical bench, the fans and the players for a job well done so far.
Now that we have won is Kamanga this, Kamanga that, Kamanga there, going to cease?

Which team is next on the chopping board at the Chipolopolo abattoir?

  2. Kamanga out still 💀- otherwise any one coaching Zambian would have won this game- Lesotho were not at par by quality

    • I am not a pro Kamanga guy but lets give credit where its due.

Here the Coach & Technical team did their homework just fine. REMEMBER that this is the Lesotho team that gave Ivory coast a scare before playing Zambia. The same Ivory coast that wired us 3 – 1 pants down in their backyard.

Fortunately they will have to come and face the music & dance to grand pa Grants tune when they visit us after we deal with Comoros…

  3. Coming to the U23 lol ba Kamanga this guy should have been fired after the game in Egypt but well both him & his technical bench were comfortable enough to back the bus in their own backyard. At their home with their fans, they sat back & thought we shall just score on a counter! Ma labish ya bola. I know that next its the U17. Appears as though FAZ has not learned anything from the U20’s lack of passion & carelessness in Egypt….

All eggs have been packed in the golden basket of the female team preparing for a 1st round elimination… No eye for the future

    • Anyway job well done but there one point to take learn here, this Lesotho team were not stable let Wait for Cote D’Ivoire if we win that then completely job well done to the Team, and In Zambia I can’t blame a coach because most successful footballing countries they spend alot of years with one coach and mantain same players for the starting 11
