Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka is back in training after limping off in Leicester City’s 2-1 loss away at Anfield.
The Zambian international’s injury was initially feared to be a serious hamstring but seems to be less serious than earlier predicted.
Leicester City boss Brendan Rogers confirmed that Daka and Dennis Praet trained on the grass this week ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup action.
Praet left the field in the 3-0 reverse to Newcastle United on Boxing Day, while Daka (hamstring) was taken off during City’s 1-0 loss at Liverpool last Friday.
“[Daka] trained with the medical team these last few days and was with the group today and looked very good,” Rodgers confirmed on Thursday.
“We’ll see later today and tomorrow how he’s recovered. Thankfully for us and for him it doesn’t seem as bad as it did at the time.
We’re just waiting for clarification on timescales, but certainly for the weekend [Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall & Boubakary Soumaré] are not available.”
Leicester City take on Gillingham away in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday with 14:30 kick-off.
Gillingham are currently bottom of Sky Bet League 2 and battle City in the third round of the FA Cup.
