Zambia U-20 National team has qualified to the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON set for Egypt in 2023 .
This follows the teams progression to the COSAFA Qualifier final with a 3-2 post match penalties win over Angola in the second semi final played at Somhlolo Stadium in Lobamba on Friday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Jeban Tembo was the hero of the day despite missing a spot kick himself as he saved two penalties to send Zambia to the final.
The match ended 1-1 in regulation time. Chipyoka Songa drew Zambia level in the 40th minute with a brilliant free kick just outside the 18 yard area.
Domingos Bandeira put Young Palancas Negras in the lead at the half hour mark with a well taken header.
Zambia will face Mozambique in the final on Sunday. The Young Mambas saw off South Africa’s Amajita 2-1 in the first semifinal.

I think coach Chisi Mbewe is slowly establishing himself as a possible future coach for the Senior national team. I like the way he always begins all his interviews with a trademark tag that symbolises his strong faith……” May I start by returning all the Glory to the Almighty Jehovah God….”
