Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club have dominated the COSAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers team of the tournament with five players.
Goalkeeper Aisha Mbwana takes up her place between the sticks, with defenders Agness Musesa, Martha Tembo and Lushomo Mweemba joining her.
Mbwana was named as the goalkeeper of the tournament after keeping three clean sheets and not conceding a single goal.
Musesa, Tembo, and Lushomo had an impressive tournament helping the team finish the tournament as the only team who did not concede a single goal.
Midfield magician Ireen Lungu has also made the cut. Lungu was the tournament’s top goalscorer with five goals.
On the bench, Striker Hellen Chanda and midfielder Judith Zulu have been included.
Green Buffaloes beat Mamelodi Sundowns 6-5 on post match penalties to win the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.
The Zambian Champions will represent the COSAFA region at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco later this year.
