Copper Queens to use Levy Mwanawasa Stadium for Angola encounter 

The Zambia Women’s National Team will for the first time play from Levy Mwanawasa Stadium next month. 

The Copper Queens will host Angola on 5th December in the second round of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers final round. 

FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development in his weekly update, The President’s corner. 

Kamanga is confident the Copper Queens will continue to make history. 

He believes qualification for WAFCON can provide the right momentum ahead of the February Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier.

“Finally, the Copper Queens commence camp today for the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola set for November 29 in Luanda. 

The 2022 WAFCON bronze winners and 2023 FIFA World Cup debutants will host Angola on December 5 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. Winner over two legs will qualify to the WAFCON with Zambia aiming to make a third straight appearance,” Kamanga wrote. 

“The WAFCON qualification could provide the right momentum ahead of the February Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier against Ghana. We have no doubt that the Copper Queens will continue to make history given the levels of investment we have put in.”

The  Copperbelt fans will get their chance to watch the 2022 WAFCON bronze medalists who have been moving from strength to strength. 

Zambia will begin their two legged encounter away in Angola on 29th November before hosting them at Levy on 5th December. 

Zambia will be seeking a fourth consecutive appearance at the WAFCON and build on their highest ever podium finish when they won bronze at the expense of Nigeria at the 2022 WAFCON held in Morocco.

  2. It’s well known now by all Zambians fans. That the best super supporters for any soccer game in Zambia are only found in the Copperbelt at LEVY MWANAWASA.
    If FAZ and its MANAGEMENT can from now CONSIDERABLY adopt and relay on hosting all CRITICAL GAMES at LEVY MWANAWASA for the following reasons:
    1. All games hosted by Levy Mwanawasa was a success due to super fans supporters in the Copperbelt
    2. No matter the matter Copperbelt super fans are not ashamed to support their own stars.
    3. It’s one of the better positioned and car park area massive,
    4. It’s the only venue Zambia can be assured a win due to the great SUPER FANS SUPPORTERS.
