The Zambia Women’s National Team started arriving in Morocco on Monday ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Skipper Barbra Banda, striker Rachel Kundananji and winger Fridah Mukoma were the first to arrive in Casablanca ahead of the Morocco 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) pre-tournament camp.
The trio were joined by a first contingent of locally based players led by assistant coach Charles Haalubono.

The second contingent of the locally based players are expected to land in Casablanca today with the remaining foreign based Stars also trooping in to complete coach Nora Häuptle’s squad.
Zambia has set up base in Casablanca as part of preparations for the tournament which kicks off on July 5 with the Copper Queens taking on the host nation in the opener at the newly built Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Zambia’s penultimate Group A match will be against Senegal on 9 July at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia, and will wrap-up their Group A engagement at the same stadium with a clash against DR Congo on 12 July.
