The Copper Queens returned to the pitch on Sunday for a light recovery session at Clapham High School in Queenswood, Pretoria, as they turned their attention to Tuesday’s high-profile FIFA international friendly against South Africa.
The session, led by Coach Nora Häuptle and her technical staff, focused on regeneration and tactical refreshers following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Botswana.
With one match under their belt in the ongoing three-nation FIFA international friendly series, the Copper Queens are now fully locked in on their next challenge of taking on reigning African champions Banyana Banyana.
The match, set for Tuesday, 3 June at 15h00 CAT, will be played at Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium in Pretoria and will be broadcast live on ZNBC TV 3 (TopStar) and SABC Sport.
Coach Häuptle and her staff are using the series to prepare for the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which kicks off in Morocco on 5 July 2025.
The Copper Queens are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and DR Congo.
