Former Zambia Under-17 Women’s Football Team Coach, Kaluba Kangwa says the Copper Queens might not be favorites to win the 2024 rescheduled Women’s Africa Cup of Nations -WAFCON- tournament.
Kangwa says this is because the team is not tactically strong heading into the tournament.
He has attributed the team’s recent decline in performance as a poor indicator that winning the WAFCON will be a huge challenge for the team.
Speaking to ZNBC Sport News in a telephone interview, Kangwa said the players do not have a strong bond in terms of understanding what the new coach wants.
Kangwa said the country should not have a lot of expectations of the team as it will take time for the players to understand Coach Nora Hauptle’s playing philosophy.
