Zambia Women’s national team cruised to a 4-1 win this afternoon in All-Stars ( Copper Queens) vs the rest affair played at Woodlands Stadium.
The rest had a force start as they took the lead just five minutes into the match after a miscommunication at the back between Ng’ambo Musole and the back four. The lead however did not last long as Siomala Mapepa leveled matters three minutes later with a well taken header.
The Copper Queens took the lead shortly after in the 13th minute as Avell Chitundu slotted home from close range off a Grace Chanda assist, Barbra Banda started the move from the center-half.
Skipper Barbra Banda could have given the All-Stars a two-goal cushion in the 19th minute but she hit her shot direct at Chiko Nkhoma in the goal for the rest. The skipper could not however be denied a second time in the 26th minute as she beat Nkhoma from a one on one position with ease to double the Copper Queens’ advantage.
The Rest were the first to make a change in the 34th minute as they brought in Natasha Witika for Elizabeth Mupeso. Coach Bruce Mwape also made three changes just before the break as Ireen Lungu paved way for debutant Evarine Katongo while Fikile Xhosa came on for Annie Kibanji as Esther Namukwasa replaced Margaret Belemu.

The second half was an even affair with little action from either side. At the hour mark, the two technical benches made multiple substitutions, Milika Limwaya and Ochumba Oseke Lubanji came on for Mary Wilombe and Siomara Mapepa for the Copper Queens while Jessy Phiri and Patricia Lampi were introduced for Jackeline Masenke and Melissa Mataba respectively for The Rest.
Substitute Ochumba Oseke Lubanji sealed the result in the 78th minute with a tap in after she met a Barbra Banda cross on the goalmouth, 4-1 the match ended.
