Copper Queens right back Margaret Belemu has joined Israeli Women’s Premier League side Maccabi Hadera for the 2026/2027 league season.
The club which is an affiliate of the Villarreal FC took to social media to confirm the development.

Belemu has been one of the most consistent players for the Copper Queens and was part of the team that qualified to the U-17 World Cup in 2014 in Costa Rica.
She has been instrumental in most of the Copper Queens’ success playing in almost all the qualifiers and tournament proper for the Olympics, 2022 and 2024 WAFCON, the World Cup and the two Olympics.
This will be Belemu’s second stint outside the country having had a short stint in Turkey with Hakkarigucu Spor. In 2020 she almost joined Chinese Taiping Women’s Super League side, Shanghai Shengli but the deal fell off during the COVID-19 pandemic.
