Copper Queens book WAFCON 2026 ticketĀ

The Zambia Women’s National Team, the Copper Queens on Sunday afternoon booked their ticket to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2026 after a 7-2 aggregate win over Namibia.

The Copper Queens saw off Namibia 3-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to complete a double over the Brave Gladiators

Zambia started strong piling pressure on Namibia and scored in the opening ten minutes but Prisca Chilufya’s goal was ruled out for offside.

Chilufya was busy in the early minutes and sent a brilliant cross into the box but Grace Chanda failed to connect, arriving just seconds late.

The pressure finally paid off as Rachel Kundananji put the hosts in the lead 21 minutes into the match heading home a Grace Chanda corner kick.

Ten minutes later, Kundananji turned provider as she set up Eneless Phiri who unleashed a powerful shot to beat Mellisa Matheus in the Namibia goal.

The Copper Queens went to the break with a comfortable two goal lead.

Nora HƤuptle’s side continued where they left off in the second half as they made it 3-0 just two minutes into the match, Prisca Chilufya heading in a brilliant Eneless Phiri cross from close range.

The Copper Queens continued to come close with Kundananji, Mulubwa and Evarine Susan Katongo all shooting just wide.

The match ended 3-0, the Copper Queens with a comfortable 7-2 aggregate win and sealing a place at next year’s continental showpiece.
