The Zambia Women’s National Team has arrived back home following a successful September FIFA window adventure in Morocco.
The Copper Queens touched down at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka aboard Kenyan Airways at 08h58.
Only the locally based players jetted into Lusaka as the foreign based players connected to their bases directly from Morocco.
Zambia beat the Atlas Lionesses 2-0 and 6-2 in their two series FIFA A grade friendly matches.
The two matches against Morocco were being used to prepare the team for the 2023 COSAFA Women’s Championship, the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers and the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 qualifiers.
For the regional competition, Zambia is placed in Group B, alongside Angola, Mozambique, and Comoros while for Olympics qualification they face off with Mali.
In the second round of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 qualifiers the 2022 bronze medalists will tackle Angola.
