Defending champions Zambia have wrapped up their final training session at the University of Namibia grounds ahead of their opening Group B match against Mozambique at the 2025 COSAFA Girls’ Under-17 Championship.
Kick-off is scheduled for 12h00 CAT at the Hage Geingob Stadium (10h00 GMT).
Coach Carol Kanyemba and her technical bench put the players through their paces in their final tune-up session, with the team showing focus and determination as they seek to extend their current nine-match unbeaten run.
The Zambian side is carrying impressive momentum into the tournament, having recently secured a second consecutive qualification to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup at the expense of Benin.
Zambia will be aiming to get off to a strong start in what promises to be a tightly contested Group B, which also features islanders Mauritius.
Later on Saturday, hosts Namibia will face Malawi in the Group A opener at 15h00 CAT completing an exciting first day of action.
All matches during the COSAFA U17 Girls’ Championship will be streamed live on FIFA+, giving fans across the continent and beyond a chance to follow the rising stars of African women’s football.
