The Copper Princesses have qualified to the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 following a 1-1 draw with Ethiopia away in Addis Ababa.
The draw meant Zambia won the tie 3-2 on aggregate after a 2-1 win in the first leg.
After a goalless first half, Zambia took the lead barely a minute into the second stanza, Precious Mwewa with her third goal of the qualifiers.
Mihiret Ayene pulled the hosts level two minutes to time but Zambia held on to draw the match and win 3-2 on aggregate.
Coach Carol Kanyemba Daka and her technical bench have led the team to their third consecutive World Cup qualification having appeared at the 2024 and 2025 editions.
The tenth edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from 17 October to 7 November 2026, with 24 sides set to battle it out to be crowned as global champions.
