The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team on Wednesday afternoon finally jetted off to the Dominican Republic ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024.
The team left Kenneth Kaunda International Airport around 16h00. FAZ Women’s National Representative Colonel Priscilla Katoba led the team as Delegation leader.
Coach Carol Kanyemba earlier in the day announced a 21 member squad that will take part in the tournament.
Pataaki Girls star player and captain of the side Blessings Zangose Zulu leads the team alongside Luyando Foundation Girls golden girl Margaret Gondwe, Mercy Chipasula, Taonga Mubanga and Bwalya Namute Chileshe.
Elite Ladies Lilian Mwenda has made the travelling squad alongside Mwaziona Sakala and Precious Mwape.
The Copper Princesses will open their World Cup campaign against Brazil on 18 October, before facing Poland on 20 October and Japan on 23 October. All Zambia’s pool matches will be played at the Estadio Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo.
