Copper Princesses in Tanzania tussle

Zambia Under-17 National Women’s Team this afternoon have a stern test against log leaders Tanzania at the 2020 COSAFA Girls Championship slated for The Oval Stadium.

The Copper Princesses who edged the hosts South Africa 2-1 in their opening match are facing a free-scoring Tanzanian side that outclassed Comoros 5-1.

This will be a mouthwatering clash with the winner taking it all in terms of commanding the table which is a round-robin format consisting of only 5 teams.

Coach Kaluba Kangwa drilled lasses will be banking on the services of mesmerizing Midfielder Cindy Banda who scored the winner in the last game and the speedy winger in Melisa Mataba, not forgetting the experience of Esther Banda alongside Shelly Masumo in the middle of the park in making sure they cut out the opponent’s supply line, Captain of the side Esther Siyamfuko is expected to lead the backline and provide the necessary cover to Chitete Munsaka in goal for the Princesses.

On the other hand, the Young Twiga stars who are the guests in this tournament will be going into this match hoping to consolidate their stay at the top, Coach Bakari Shime will rely on the dangerous Aisha Masaka who scored a brace in the first game against Comoros as well as the likes of Mwanamvua Haruna, Joyce Lema and Protasia Mbunda who all found the back of the net in their opening match.

This match will Kick-off at 12:30hrs and will be broadcasted live on COSAFA TV.

In other matches in this age group, hosts South Africa will be hoping to bounce back as they face the Young Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe at 15:30hrs at the same venue.

The top two teams in this category will battle it out in the final slated for 14th November 2020 at the Wolfson Stadium with Kick-off at 11:00hrs.
