Zambia’s Copper Princesses continued their preparations for the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup with a focused goalkeeping session in Casablanca on Tuesday.
Goalkeeper coach Danny Mbao put the team’s three goalkeepers — Bukata Kakumbi, Winfridah Mutale and Decent Mbewe — through their paces at the Club Sportif Academie des Electricienes de Football.
The trio worked on their reflexes and reactions as Zambia stepped up preparations for the World Cup, which begins in Morocco later this month.
Despite the demands of a long-haul journey, the goalkeepers completed a full training session as the technical bench continued to fine-tune the squad ahead of the tournament.
Zambia will face China in a pre-World Cup international friendly in Casablanca on Friday, providing the Copper Princesses with an important final test before the tournament gets under way.
The FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Morocco from 17 October to 7 November, with Zambia drawn in Group D alongside Japan, France and Venezuela.
