A goal from Fashion Sakala and a brace from Patson Daka helped Zambia to a 3-0 victory over Uganda in a friendly match on Tuesday.
The Copper Bullets came into the match off a 1-0 loss against Egypt same as the Cranes who suffered a loss by the same margin against Mali.
Coach Avram Grant made three changes to the team as he introduced Edward Chilufya, Golden Mafwenta and Zephaniah Phiri for Lubambo Musonda, the injured Kelvin Kapumbu and Benedict Chepeshi.
Chipolopolo started strong and just after five minutes earned a penalty after a foul on Klings Kangwa.
Patson Daka stepped up and dispatched it with ease to open the scoring, beating Joel Mutakubwa in the Cranes goal.
Zambia could have added a second in the 14th minute but Fashion Sakala missed a very good opportunity with only the goalkeeper to beat following a brilliant cross from Zephaniah Phiri.
Zambia continued to pull pressure and dominate. On the other end, Francis Mwansa also had to make a brilliant save to deny Khalid Aucho.
The match went to the break with Zambia leading 1-0.
In the second stanza Zambia returned with a lot of purpose.
Sakala had another chance to double the lead six minutes into the second half but he failed to make a strike after driving into the box.
Zambia finally doubled the lead in the 63rd minute as Fashion Sakala headed in a beautiful cross from Zephaniah Phiri.
Five minutes later, Phiri who was making his Chipolopolo debut was at it again as he assisted Daka for his second of the match, another brilliant header, 3-0.
Grant made a lot of changes bringing in Clatous Chota Chama, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Rally Bwalya, Francisco Mwepu and Benedict Chepeshi.
Zambia controlled the last few minutes with beautiful interchange of passes keeping the possession to end the match, 3-0.
Zambia was using the match to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers against Congo and Niger. The Chipolopolo Boys are in Pool E with the two nations, Morocco, Tanzania, Niger and Eritrea.
The match was also being used to fine-tune for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group F fixtures against DR Congo, Morocco and Tanzania.
