Collins Makungu completes switch from Mufulira Wanderers to ZANACO

Midfielder Collins Makungu has completed his switch from Mufulira Wanderers to Lusaka based MTN Super League outfit Sensational ZANACO, Wanderers have confirmed.

As earlier reported, Makungu has moved to Sunset Stadium after a decade at Shine Stadium that started with Young Mufulira Wanderers.

“Mufulira Wanderers Football Club wishes to announce the departure of Captain Collins Makungu on a permanent transfer to Zanaco Football Club.”

Makungu joined Young Mufulira Wanderers in 2016 under the guidance of Coach Moses Kashimoto. During this time, he played as an attacking midfielder and emerged as top goalscorer twice before being promoted to the senior team in the 2018/19 soccer season under coach Justin Chinama.

He was part of the Mufulira Wanderers team that won promotion back to the MTN Super League. In 2022/23, Makungu was named captain of the team and has been wearing the armband up to the time of his departure.

Makungu made over 150 appearances, contributing 8 goals and 7 assists in the Super League and 5 goals and 4 assists in the National League, respectively.

Makungu, popularly known as Kapandaula, led Wanderers to win the second edition of the IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup by scoring the only goal in the one nil win of the second leg with a 2 goal aggregate over arch rivals Nkana Football Club.
