Zambia Women’s national team head coach Bruce Mwape is expected to make a few changes to his squad for this morning’s clash against China at the ongoing Olympics.
Green Buffaloes defender Martha Tembo is expected to return to the starting lineup at left-back after serving a one-match suspension and missing the opening game against the Netherlands.
Kazakhstan-based forward Rachel Kundananji who arrived late is also expected to start upfront alongside Barbra Banda.
Hazel Nali is expected to continue between the sticks with Margaret Belemu at right Back. Agness Musesa and Anita Mulenga will battle for a place at the heart of defense to partner Lushomo Mweemba.
In midfield, Irene Lungu is expected to start with Mary Wilombe but it’s not clear whether Grace Chanda will be pushed upfront or will keep his place in midfield.
Barbra Banda is expected to be the leader again upfront and with a hat-trick in the first game. China-based forward is a goal machine and is the Copper Queens’ biggest bet at getting goals in this match.
Should Zambia win it will be their first at the Olympics while the Steel Roses are chasing a ninth win at the Global Sports spectacle.
