Coach Bruce Mwape set to announce squad for Morocco matches

Zambia Women’s National Team head coach Bruce Mwape will name his provisional squad for the final round of Paris 2024 Olympics qualifiers.

The Copper Queens will host Morocco on Friday, 5th April before travelling to Rabat for the return leg on 8th April.

Mwape is expected to name a combination of locally based players and Foreign based stars.

The team is expected to resume training this week ahead of  the two crunch ties.

Zambia saw off Ghana 4-3 on aggregate to seal their progression to the final round while Morocco beat Tunisia to set up this mouthwatering encounter.

USA National Women’s Soccer League new acquisitions Barbra Banda and Rachel Kundananji, the two most expensive female football players in history are set to lead the squad.

Kundananji is however a doubt following the injury she sustained against Ghana at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. She missed Bay FC 1-0 win over Angel City.

FAZ Women’s Super League top goalscorers Charity Mubanga and Rachel Moono could get call ups with the likes of Salome Phiri, Tabo Miselo, among others.

Zambia are looking to make it back to back Olympics appearances having been to the 2020 edition in Tokyo, Japan.
